Casalasco: the Italian leader in processing industrial tomatoes

With more than 800,000 tons of fresh tomatoes processed in the 2022 marketing year, the Casalasco Group, which recently acquired Emiliana Conserve, has been confirmed as a national leader in the industry and among the top 10 worldwide.

Despite a campaign characterized by drought and skyrocketing energy costs, the Cremona-based company managed to process in its 5 plants (located in the provinces of Cremona, Parma, and Piacenza) all the tomatoes delivered by the more than 800 member farms, ensuring not only quantity, but also excellent quality.

Once again,” comments Costantino Vaia, CEO of Casalasco, “our integrated supply chain model has proven to be successful. Although campaigns in recent years have been affected by extreme events such as the pandemic, drought, and exorbitantly high cost increases, we have managed to ensure production in terms of quantity and quality, generating value and growth.”

The Casalasco Group, in addition to being an international industry benchmark in processing tomatoes with its Pomi and De Rica brands, is also a leading co-packer for the production of sauces, condiments, and ketchup for major food multinationals.

The projected turnover by 2022 will exceed half a billion euros, with an export share of more than 70% and products distributed in more than 60 countries around the world.

Casalasco, which has always been attentive to ESG issues, also recently published its fourth Sustainability Report, highlighting its achievements in terms of supply chain, quality, environment and safety, health and workers’ rights.
