The leading group in Italy in the industrial tomato processing sector has chosen NolPal's pallet rental management model.

Casalasco Società Agricola SPA is strengthening its environmental and social commitment by choosing the NolPal model for a significant portion of its pallet movements. This model reduces economic and logistical inefficiencies and eliminates the associated environmental impacts of EPAL pallet exchange.
Established in 1977 as a Consortium and, just over a year ago, converted into a joint-stock company still controlled by its contributing members, the Casalasco group operates 5 plants that process raw tomatoes from 800 farms, generating an annual turnover exceeding 500 million euros.
"The success of our proprietary brands, Pomì and De Rica, and our private-label products is primarily based on our relationship with the territory where we operate, across the provinces of Cremona, Parma, and Piacenza," explains Elisabetta Saccani, Casalasco Purchasing Department "We control the supply chain from field to shelf, tracing every phase to offer customers a safe and guaranteed product."
NolPal's rental management model, a company providing advanced logistics services controlled by the Casadei Pallets group, is also based on territorial analysis and the networking of high volumes of interchangeable EPAL pallets. Its objective is to redistribute quantities and qualities that meet the needs of industry and logistics, with appropriate timing and, above all, with the shortest possible pallet routes.
In particular, the NolPal Point in Parma (one of 50 operating nationwide) is a prime example explaining Casalasco's decision to entrust part of its pallet management to NolPal: it pools large volumes of EPAL pallets in an area with a high concentration of manufacturing for mass consumption, thereby reducing delivery times and kilometers traveled by trucks, with significant reductions in empty or partially loaded journeys.
"This model is actually applied across all NolPal Points," emphasize the Casalasco logistics management. "Therefore, the benefit of circularity—physically, environmentally, and economically—is realized throughout the national territory where we deliver."
"But there's more: our system is subject to strong seasonal peaks. We have a summer concentration of industrial activities that require large quantities of pallets delivered daily. Managing these flows directly would be possible, but costly and risky. That's why we chose to outsource part of the activity through a rental service capable of handling high volumes spread over two months, with technical pallet quality suitable for the food sector and automated warehouses."
The benefit gained complements Casalasco SPA's commitment to sustainability, which is measured and monitored through its annual Sustainability Report, the GlobalG.A.P. compliance certification for tomato-producing farms, and adherence to the UN Global Compact protocol.
