The general assembly approved the 2021 financial statements and renewed the appointments for the next three years.
This morning, the ordinary assembly of the Consorzio Casalasco del pomodoro was held at its headquarters in Rivarolo del Re (CR). Among the items on the agenda were the approval of the 2021 financial statements and the appointment of the new Board of Directors and Board of Statutory Auditors for the upcoming three-year period 2022-2024.
The members unanimously approved the financial statements, which showed a growing turnover approaching 350 million euros and generates 70% of its revenue from exports, across European and non-European markets, confirming its role as the cornerstone of Casalasco's activities and its subsidiaries.
Sales saw a further increase in the segment of Tomato Derivatives, sauces and condiments and the RETAIL channel remains the most important (83% of the total) both with products under the Pomì and De Rica brands and with third-party productions.
During the meeting, it was also highlighted that 2021, in addition to its excellent results, was a year marked by a significant extraordinary transaction aimed at with the QuattroR fund which gave rise to Casalasco Società Agricola S.p.A., with the aim of combining the values of the Italian agricultural supply chain with those of a specialized operator in supporting the growth of excellent Italian companies in international markets. The shared industrial plan will be implemented over the next five years.
The members reconfirmed, almost entirely, the outgoing board of directors (Voltini, Sartori, Arata, Barilli, Bassi, Borzi, Compagnoni, Fava, Fertonani, Gentili, Spagnoli, Sfolcini, Trentini, Failli) and the board of statutory auditors chaired by Dr. Bignami.
Paolo Voltini an agricultural entrepreneur, 49 years old (who has led the Casalasco Consortium for twenty years) was re-elected president with Marco Sartori as Vice President unanimously.
The President highlighted that, at a time of such significant cost increases affecting the agricultural sector, an agreement was recently concluded with the Producer Organizations that are members of the Casalasco Consortium, which set the tomato price for the 2022 season at 111 Euros/ton.
In closing, Voltini stated: “I thank the Board of Directors and all members of the organization for the trust they have shown and for the work accomplished over the past three years, which has enabled us to complete a significant operation aimed at creating value throughout the Italian agri-food supply chain, from agricultural production to global distribution.
