July 21, 2025 – Casalasco, a leading agri-food group in the selection, cultivation, and processing of tomatoes, and packaging and marketing of its derivatives, presents its 2024 Sustainability Report, which for the second year also consolidates data from its subsidiaries Emiliana Conserve S.p.A., SAC S.p.A, Pomì USA Inc, and De Martino srl.
The Casalasco Group, which is the largest agri-industrial tomato supply chain in Italy, recorded a turnover of 605 million euros in 2024. Its 5 production plants have a maximum processing capacity of over 800 thousand tons of fresh tomatoes, supplied by 800 farms through the Casalasco Tomato Consortium.
Environment, Innovation, Research & Development, People, and Supply Chain are the five pillars guiding the Group's sustainability strategy. The Group is committed to adopting a transparent approach with all stakeholders, aiming to build an efficient and responsible value chain. Casalasco's sustainable growth is focused on enhancing the entire Italian agri-industrial supply chain, ensuring an equitable distribution of generated value, while respecting nature, the local area, and people's quality of life.
In this context, the 2024 Sustainability Report consolidates the Group's identity, values, and vision, confirming its position as a solid and innovative agri-food company, attentive to the balance between economic development, environmental protection, and social well-being.

GOVERNANCE AND STRATEGY
The Group adopts a solid and transparent governance model, in line with the highest ethical and organizational standards, supported by advanced monitoring and reporting tools. This approach aims to protect personnel and ensure the integrity of all operations.
Confirming this commitment, Casalasco Società Agricola S.p.A. and Emiliana Conserve S.p.A. have obtained Ecovadis certification, an independent and internationally recognized assessment that analyzes corporate sustainability performance in environmental, human rights, ethics, and responsible sourcing areas. In parallel, the Group applies ESG criteria to both internal activities and supplier evaluations, through the Synesgy platform.
The commitment to responsible management also extends to adhering to the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and participating in the SEDEX platform, while financial transparency is ensured by the adoption of international accounting standards IAS/IFRS.
Within this context of innovation and growth, the “ project is introduced.Evolution”, which includes the Cyber Security Awarenessinitiative. Involving all employees, the project strengthens the Group's digital and organizational transformation journey.
ENVIRONMENT
In 2024, the “ plan continued with determination,Road to Net Zero Emission”, launched in 2023, with the aim of minimizing environmental impact throughout the entire supply chain. Among the main achievements: the use of 100% renewable electricity across all the Group's production sites and warehouses, and the diversion of 98% of waste for recovery.
Investments in energy efficiency and water treatment continued, with the launch of the new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 420,000 PE at the Rivarolo del Re site.
Regarding packaging, the packaging for Pomì tomato puree destined for the Italian market is plant based, meaning consisting of 78% certified plant-based material according to environmental, ethical, and social standards.
Regarding the environmental management system of the production sites, 80% of the facilities are already certified UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 the goal is to reach 100% by 2026.
SUPPLY CHAIN AND QUALITY CONTROL
In 2024, the Casalasco Consortium further strengthened its integrated supply chain model, promoting regenerative and low-environmental-impact agricultural practices through its participation in the Carbon Farming program, developed with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Piacenza.
In the second half of the same year, a new supply chain dedicated to basil was launched, based on a controlled model that ensures high standards of quality and sustainability. These efforts are part of a broader investment framework, with the "Casalasco Sustainable Supply Chain" project under the PNRR, with Casalasco as the lead partner, which allocates over 40 million euros to reduce environmental impact and improve the sustainability of the entire production chain.
In the tomato sector, Casalasco confirms its national leadership, with a production of 549,978 tons of raw material, with an economic value of 82.7 million euros. All products are 100% Italian, sourced from a controlled supply chain, with non-GMO seeds and the brand QC – Quality Controlled.
Commitment to food safety is demonstrated by rigorous controls throughout the entire production chain. These include 1,463 multi-residue analyses on tomato berries, 417,930 chemical-physical analyses, 95,140 microbiological analyses, and 483 multi-residue analyses on semi-finished products, in addition to 117 specific tests for Alternaria toxins.
In terms of environmental sustainability and innovation, the Consortium continues to implement the technology MVR (Mechanical Vapor Recompression) to reduce methane gas consumption and climate-altering emissions. The use of reusable polypropylene seed trays has also been increased, with 9,500 units already in use and a target of 70,000 pieces by 2025, which currently allow for a 66% CO₂eq saving compared to traditional polystyrene versions. Furthermore, 3,125 trees have been planted, with the goal of reaching 3,500 by next year.
PEOPLE, HEALTH AND INCLUSION
Great attention continues to be dedicated to people, the true engine of the Group's sustainable growth.
In 2024, the total number of employees reached 2,037 units, including seasonal workers employed during the harvest campaign, amounting to 1,200 FTEs (Full-Time Equivalents). The workforce remains equally distributed by gender with 45% women and 55% men, and a multi-ethnic presence represented by 32% of employees from 66 different nationalities.
Casalasco has strengthened its investments in training and well-being, bringing the per capita hours dedicated to health and safety at work to 13.8 a significant increase from the 9.4 hours in 2023.
As part of its employee welfare programs, the Group has promoted numerous free initiatives to support employee well-being, offering free courses and check-ups for the promotion of healthy lifestyles, the prevention of oncological diseases and the encouragement of sustainable mobility.
Among these, the oncological screening programparticularly stands out, enabling 782 diagnostic tests.
