A leading Italian company in industrial tomato processing enters the global Top 10 in the sector

Casalasco S.p.A. announced that theacquisition of 73.8% of Emiliana Conserve Soc. Agr. S.p.A. was finalized in recent days.. This is Casalasco's most significant extraordinary transaction. The acquisition was carried out with the full support of the fund QuattroR which recently became part of the Group's ownership.
With this new investment, the group, already Italy's leader in industrial tomato processing, further consolidates its leadership internationally; with 11,300 hectares dedicated to tomato cultivation, 5 plants and a processing capacity of over 850,000 tons it ranks among the top 10 companies in the world in the sector with a projected turnover of half a billion euros.
The President Paolo Voltini commented: “We have completed an extraordinarily important acquisition for its economic impact on the region, both agriculturally, involving approximately 800 supplying farms,, as well as for employment, considering that the group's facilities will employ over 2,000 employees , both permanent and seasonal staff; we are proud to manage one of the most significant supply chains for 'Made in Italy' products.”
Costantino Vaia, the company's CEO, adds: “This operation, in addition to significantly accelerating the company's growth process, further strengthens our leadership in the industrial tomato sector thanks to a consolidation process aimed at creating value for the entire sector.. Our supply chain – Vaia continues – has always represented a virtuous model deeply rooted in the region, capable of exporting 70% of its production to international markets in over 60 countries worldwide.”
Founded in 1985 in the province of Parma and with a turnover of 100 million Euros, Emiliana Conserve has two tomato processing and packaging plants in Busseto (PR) and San Polo di Podenzano (PC). The company's core business consists of pulps, purees, and concentrates produced for the main Private Label and the most important brands in the sector for the domestic and international markets.
In the transaction, Casalasco S.p.A. was assisted by KPMG and the law firm Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici, while Emiliana Conserve was supported by lawyers Livia Giordani & Roberto Adornato of Milan and Studio Mutti of Piacenza.
