Casalasco participates in the Ecosistema Fedabo project

A portion of woodland adopted in Val Camonica

News

Ecosystem preservation is only possible as a collaborative effort by everyone: by institutions, certainly, but also by individual citizens and companies; protecting the environment also means protecting the communities that live in it and make it thrive.
Fully aligned with this philosophy, we chose to support the project Ecosistema Fedabo by adopting a portion of woodland in Valle Camonica.

The project

Ecosistema Fedabo is a project launched in 2021 with the aim of protecting the environment, promoting sustainability-related activities, and developing ecological-landscape enhancement and forest management projects.
Specifically, Fedabo's activities focus on the woodland areas of Valle Camonica, with active and sustainable management of forests and natural resources.

Ongoing activities

The green areas along the Oglio River bank and their ecosystem play a fundamental role from an ecological, hydrological, and landscape perspective.
To protect them, the Ecosistema Fedabo project's activities are multifaceted: the restoration of mountain trails, the active and sustainable management of wooded areas, and the planting of native vegetation.

The management of wooded areas is not for aesthetic or landscape purposes; rather, it ensures technical interventions to protect native vegetation, promote active and sustainable forest management, and counteract land abandonment.

Forests play a key role in combating climate change by offsetting greenhouse gas emissions; that's why planting native vegetation is a direct, simple, yet fundamental action to support the ecosystem and create a more welcoming and beautiful environment.

Ecosistema Fedabo's intervention on the mountain trails instead, involves the reconstruction of the walking surface and signage, the removal of invasive vegetation, and the restoration of trail sections to ensure their safety.

Our idea of sustainability

By supporting the care of a portion of forest Casalasco adds another piece to its initiatives focused on environmental and social sustainability.
From choosing greener options in packaging and the supply chain, to reforestation projects developed in the areas surrounding the production plants, to research activities carried out directly from the field through its subsidiary Casalasco Agricola, to initiatives implemented to support employee health, and to training projects in schools.
