The Casalasco Tomato Consortium closed 2019 with a 17% increase in consolidated revenue, reaching 310 million euros, significantly accelerating the growth trend of recent years.

Specifically, this growth is characterized by a significant increase in market share abroad, both in the co-packing segment and in private label sales. Exports, which now account for two-thirds of the revenue, confirm their role as the driving force and key element for the growth of the cooperative and its subsidiaries, which export to over 60 countries worldwide. In terms of business segmentation, the tomato and derivatives category continues to be strategically important, with a wide range of products and packaging, particularly in ready-made sauces, followed by soups and broths, fruit juices, and plant-based beverages.

The Retail segment remains the primary sales channel, both with its own-brand products (Pomì and De Rica) and with third-party production for major food multinationals, positioned as premium.

«2019 was a very challenging year in many respects – commented the General Manager of the Casalasco Tomato Consortium, Costantino Vaiawhere we saw a significant strengthening of our business solidity, especially abroad. Sustainability and social responsibility are increasingly confirmed as key elements for a correct understanding of the markets. The efforts of recent years in terms of investments have improved flexibility and production diversification, which, combined with high-level know-how, have allowed us to further consolidate direct, stable, and lasting relationships with the major international players in the food industry.».
