Rivarolo del Re, April 28, 2016. The ordinary assembly of the Casalasco Tomato Consortium was held last night at its Rivarolo del Re headquarters, with the approval of the 2015 financial statements, the appointment of the new board of directors, and the new board of statutory auditors for the 2016-2018 three-year period among the items on the agenda.
During the evening the members first unanimously approved the financial statements for the last fiscal year, which included an additional payment compared to the market price of tomatoes, and reconfirmed almost entirely the outgoing board of directors, headed by President Paolo Voltini, thus sending a clear signal of continuity.
43 years old, an agricultural entrepreneur and President of the Casalasco Consortium since 2002, Voltini also holds the positions of president of Coldiretti Cremona and the Cremona Agricultural Consortium.
During the assembly, General Manager Costantino Vaia presented the report on the 2015 financial statements, then focusing in particular on the new commercial development plan and on the new and significant investments dedicated to the group's three plants.
Following the merger by incorporation of A.R.P. - Agricoltori Riuniti Piacentini in October 2015, Casalasco is positioned as the leading group for the production and processing of industrial tomatoes in Italy (as the third largest group in Europe) and closed 2015 with a turnover of approximately 250 million Euros.
In 2015, the Consortium also confirmed its important leading role in national and international co-packing through significant collaborations with food multinationals and demonstrating continuous growth of its Pomì brand in international markets, particularly the American one.
Concluding the assembly, President Voltini thanked all the members for their continuous support given to the cooperative in recent years.
